Finsbury Park TMD. Stopped 22:00 - 'C' exam and No.2 power unit 538* aerating*.
19 -	Finsbury Park TMD. 'C' exam and repairs. Locomotive taken out of traffic - awaiting works attention 11:00. To Doncaster Works - Unclassified repair. No.2 power unit 538 aerating badly, loosing coolant and Dowty pump quill shaft to renew - 538 replaced by 457 (ex 55003) and the primary fan drive was replaced.

Conclusions: 23.03.78 DME KX states: This locomotive had been released from Doncaster Works after No.2 power unit change on 23.01.78 and had stood spare at Doncaster on 24.01.78 before coming light engine to Peterborough to pick up the 07:20 Peterborough - King's Cross working.
