Deltic in disgrace: After suffering fire damage, whilst in charge of the1E01 08:00 Edinburgh - King's Cross service, D9007 "PINZA" is hauled away from Newark Northgate on the 4th April 1970 by D3074 (later 08060).
Note the 'D' prefix is still carried at this time, however, was dropped by 02.08.70 - the most likely removal of the prefix is after Intermediate overhaul dated 06.04-24.04.70 which occurred as the result of the fire damage sustained on 04.04.70.
