Only seven days after receiving its nameplates, and already dirty, D9019 "ROYAL HIGHLAND FUSILIER", the last of the class to be named, passes Doncaster with the Saturday 1A35 10:00 Edinburgh - King's Cross "The Flying Scotsman" service, complete with Winged Thistle headboard....

With both home and distant signals showing all clear D9019 "ROYAL HIGHLAND FUSILIER" speeds towards Newark Northgate in early 1966 with the 1A35 10:00 Edinburgh - King's Cross "The Flying Scotsman" service. It is only one month after the locomotive was named (the last of the class to be so treated) and evidence of the celebrations still exist in the form of silver buffer heads.
