During a trouble period for the locomotive 55018 (D9018) "BALLYMOSS" departs York TMD, in order to power the 1A06 11:50 York - King's Cross service, on Sunday 5th July 1981.
On this occasion 55018 only managed to reach Holgate and was reversed into the station where 47404 was provided to take the service forward.
Its troubles continued until the 10th of the month when it was taken out of service at York and had traction motor No.4 replaced on the 22nd July.
