On the 15th May 2008 D9016 "GORDON HIGHLANDER" made the road journey from Peak Rail, Matlock, to the Churnet Valley Railway in North Staffordshire. Here it becomes apparent that the Junction of the A52 & A520, otherwise known as Cellarhead Crossroads, is too tight for Alley's Heavy Haulage to traverse. In order to gain access to the A52 something akin to the 'King's Cross Shuffle' of old was required...

...After reversing back onto the A520 D9016 was then shunted forward over the crossroads and then reversed right onto the A52, thus having the consist pointing in the right direction to move east towards Kingsley & Froghall...

...with the 'Cellarhead Shuffle' manoeuvre complete Alley's Heavy Haulage and D9016 head east away from Cellarhead Crossroads towards their intended destination of Froghall on the Churnet Valley Railway...

...Kingsley High Street was never intended for Deltics, its narrow lanes even tight for normal road traffic, here D9016 nears the end of the road on its journey to the Churnet Valley Railway on the 15th May 2008...

...D9016 "GORDON HIGHLANDER" is successfully delivered to the Churnet Valley Railway and is seen as it touches down on North Staffs metals at Bolton's Copper Works Yard, Froghall, on the 15th May 2008.
