On the 12th September 1980 55012 (D9012) "CREPELLO" undergoes a 'B' examination at Finsbury Park, the locomotive was released later in the day to work the 1S70 22:15 King's Cross - Aberdeen, "The Night Aberdonian" service as far as Edinburgh. Deltic class-mate 55004 (D9004) "QUEEN'S OWN HIGHLANDER" is also seen receiving attention.
